Devon is noted for its thatched cottages set in sleepy villages, and friendly folk. Northlew is just one of those villages. Local pub, The Golden Inn, has an extensive menu (including vegetarian dishes) at reasonable prices. The market towns of Hatherleigh and Holdsworthy, with their weekly livestock and produce markets, are close by.
